Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan (SRK), who is right now riding on the massive box office success of Chennai Express, has more to offer to his fans in the country. In a latest development, now you can give a call from any phone on any network to the super star and have his tweets delivered to your phone as SMSes.
“Dial To Follow Him On Twitter” initiative was out yesterday and the ground breaking move has been possible with the integration of Twitter India and ZipDial. With this new move, as a fan of SRK you need to dial or give a missed call at 09015500555. After that you just need to sit back and keep reading the SMS tweets from SRK.
The new initiative works for any phone, any network and moreover it is a completely free experience with SRK irrespective of whether they have a Twitter account or data enabled phone. I tried out the service even though I am not a SRK fan and it is glitch free.
If you want to stop the updates you can do so by sending a STOP message or you can give a missed call to 08067913982 and that would unsubscribe you from the SRK tweets. The below screen grab gives you a quick look of the new initiative.
On the occasion SRK had a special mention for ZipDial and Twitter to help him get closer to his countrywide fan following, who do not have access to Twitter. Very soon the star has plans to expand this initiative in multiple countries, languages and platforms. Besides this SRK had a video message for his fans while he had shared the same news on his Facebook and Twitter page.
The move definitely is a great one for SRK fans but at the same time this will increase the reach of the 140 character social network -Twitter in India and the already popular Zipdial for its leading mobile marketing and analytics platform. Twitter has been working on growing its India base and the recent integration with Vodafone for free Twitter access for ninety days is also in the same direction.
With Chennai Express dominating the silver screens and Twitter trends for days, the new move will only grow the popularity of the movie and of the star on Twitter too.
