A woman stabbed her boyfriend for starting Thanksgiving without her. Pennsylvania police arrested 47-year-old Jack-Lyn Blake for aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and making terroristic threats. According to the boyfriend, Benjamin Smith, the two had got into an argument earlier in the day, and Blake had also been drinking. She eventually fell asleep, and Smith, who was hungry and did not wish to wake her after their spat, began eating the prepared Thanksgiving dinner without her.

When Blake awoke and found that Smith had begun the festivities in her absence, she became infuriated and that’s when the incident took a turn for the worse. In a bloody rage, Blake grabbed a knife from the dinner table and began chasing Smith around the home and managed to stab him several times in the chest before hurling the knife at his face where it hit him below the left eye.

Responding to a domestic disturbance, police arrived at the scene and find a ruined Thanksgiving where a woman stabbed her boyfriend for having commenced dinner without her. Smith was found holding a bloody towel to his chest; he was treated at a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries and later released. It is not clear at this time whether Smith has obtained a lawyer or whether he will be pressing charges. Whatever the case, at least he got to enjoy a nice meal before his likely now ex-girlfriend awoke.

As implied in its name, Thanksgiving is supposed to be a time of giving thanks. Unfortunately, what is supposed to be a joyful occasion too often turns ugly when too much alcohol is involved. This Thanksgiving tale of a woman stabbing her boyfriend isn’t unusual. In 2012, an 18-year-old man was arrested several days after Thanksgiving for stabbing and strangling her mother’s live-in boyfriend for having consumed all the leftovers.
