M&M’s are about to get a whole lot sweeter. The candy company unveiled a new filling for their colorful candies in order to celebrate its 75th anniversary. As of next year, M&M’s will have a sweet caramel filling.

The M&M’s Caramel candy has a “soft caramel center,” according to CNN, and is covered in their signature crunchy milk chocolate shell. This new flavor will join other delectable options, such as classic milk chocolate, pretzel and peanut. According to Hank Izzo, vice president of research and development of parent company Mars Chocolate, they wanted to be part of this “extremely trendy” category.

In a PopSugar taste test, they wrote that the “best way to describe these M&M’s is that they’re like Rolo caramels with a crunchy outer shell. As soon as you crack into the crunchy, colorful coating, your taste buds are met with a smooth, rich, satisfying caramel that leaves you going back for more.” They gave the new M&M’s a nearly perfect rating, just falling short of a full five stars. People magazine also gave their stamp of approval. (Using an “M” letter stamp, perhaps?)

M&M’s first made their debut in 1941 and to celebrate their 75th anniversary, they launched a year-long celebration this year. They launched the largest marketing campaign in the brand’s history with #CelebratewithM, a fun way to mark the anniversary in pop culture. They also released an updated “Candyman” song, featuring Zedd and Aloe Blacc, putting a modern twist on the classic tune. Other party-celebration activities included retro packaging, a flavor vote and Red Nose Day.

M&M’s Caramel candy will hit shelves in May 2017.
