The Trust Wallet development team has announced its successful integration with Ronin Network to support non-fungible tokens (NFTs), with the partnership to allow gamers to access Axie Infinity NFTs directly from the noncustodial wallet.
The news was confirmed in a September 14 blog post.
Axie Infinity Overview
Launched in 2018, Axie Infinity is a non-fungible token (NFT)-based online video game that took the gaming world by storm in 2021. The play-to-earn (P2E) video game is unique and innovative, allowing gamers to own, trade, and play using digital characters called Axies.
Axie Infinity’s parent company, Sky Mavis, established Ronin Network last year as part of the efforts to expand its gaming capabilities – Ronin Network is an Ethereum-linked blockchain designed explicitly for gaming.
Sky Mavis created Ronin Network at the time as the Axie Infinity video game team required a more reliable, faster, and cost-effective network that could support a massive influx of gamers, with Axie Infinity supporting more than 2.5 million daily active gamers at its peak.
Axie Infinity suffered one of the largest hacks in the short history of crypto earlier this year, with hackers breaching the Ronin bridge that connected its sidechain and Ethereum, losing more than $675 million of its users’ investment.
However, Sky Mavis prepared a funding initiative that raised $150 million in April to compensate the affected users and in late June, Axie Infinity announced that it had restored the exploited bridge.
Trust Wallet And Axie Infinity Integration
Trust Wallet is one of the best crypto wallets for digital assets and NFTs in the Ethereum blockchain. The noncustodial crypto wallet allows users to store and manage over 6 million crypto assets, including NFTs, across more than 68 blockchains.
The new integration with Trust Wallet showcases that Axie Infinity has slowly started gaining uptrend momentum following the raid.
