The German automobile manufacturer Porsche has announced plans to join the NFT space. Its NFT foray comes when non-fungible tokens seem to have lost their appeal following the ongoing bear market.
Porsche Enters The NFT Space
In a December 1 site publication, the automobile manufacturer confirmed plans to launch a new NFT collection. Porsche has teamed up with Hamburg-based digital assets designer and 3D artist Patrick Vogel, Vexx, and Scottish artist Chris Labrooy for the NFT project.
The automobile carmaker anticipates launching a new NFT collection depicting its Porsche 911 car brand. The NFT collection appears a few hours before the highly anticipated brand experience in Art Basel in Miami.
The NFT collection will feature a limited edition of 7,500 customized art pieces, officially launching on the Porsche NFT marketplace in January 2023. The new NFTs will allow holders to access the virtual and real worlds.
Porsche To Launch Metaverse Experience In Miami
Moreover, the new NFT collections will allow users to access the metaverse experience in Art Basel, Miami. While commenting about the new metaverse project, Kjell Gruner, the president of Porsche Cars in North America, remarked:
“We’re excited for the launch in Miami, and to witness the work of the NFT owners as their bespoke artwork develops over the course of the coming months.”
“Porsche has longstanding links to the creative arts and we’re excited to take this next step at Art Basel in launching a beautiful, and of course unique, set of NFTs to allow private ownership of a piece of Porsche art.”
According to Porsche, the new NFT collection will allow it to understand better modern luxury and its unique brand positioning in the digital world. The new NFT collection will launch in January 2023.
