By including forms on company websites, businesses can quickly gather information on customers, creating e-mail newsletter subscriptions or securing the information necessary to make follow-up calls. But for the average website owner, creating professional-looking forms quickly and easily is a challenging, time-consuming process.

FormMule turns form creation into a drag-and-drop process that gives users complete control over the design and functionality of their forms. This FormMule review describes how the app works, along with how you can use it to gather information on your website visitors.

About FormMule

With the tagline, “removing the hard work from online form-building,” FormMule offers customizable HTML forms to assist website owners in creating surveys, gathering information, and accepting payments for goods or services. With a complete range of services that include analytics and themed templates, FormMule helps businesses achieve a look that matches their brand at a lower cost than hiring a professional developer.

Main Functionality of FormMule

FormMule users can add logos, change colors, and select fonts to fit their personal style. As you create more forms, FormMule’s dashboard helps you organize and sort them for easier tracking of new orders. Companies can also assign several team members to update and design forms, designate specific forms to individual team members, and even change the team administrator.

Benefits of Using FormMule

FormMule goes beyond simple creation and editing of forms, letting businesses receive notifications and analytics to help them monitor the status of their campaigns. Easy integration with web apps allows FormMule to easily be tied into a business’s existing infrastructure, allowing businesses to use FormMule for everything from employee timesheets to building an e-mail subscription list. FormMule can be easily connected to a business’s FreshBooks and Twitter accounts, as well as a wide variety of e-mail marketing services such as MailChimp and iContact.

The Basics: What Does It Look Like

FormMule’s “Create Form” page provides a page where you can easily add new form fields. To add form fields, you simply drag the specified fields on the right over to your form on the left.

Once finished, your form will look something like this:

Once you’ve created a form, you can change the look and feel of it under Form Settings-Create a Theme. You can change the form’s colors, font styles, headers, and more in this area.

You can also set up your notification preferences, view usage statistics, and set up payments. FormMule allows businesses to accept PayPal and Google Checkout through redirect, PayPal Pro and Authorize.net through integrated payment, and launch invoicing through FreshBooks.

Support Information

FormMule provides a comprehensive knowledge base that covers many of the basic questions members might have. One-on-one support is available by placing a support ticket through the site’s Support Center. FormMule also provides a manual that walks users through the each step of using the site, from creating an account to generating professional-looking reports.

Pricing Information

A basic account is free, but users are limited to only ten forms, five reports, and one user. The free version also doesn’t include payment integration. Accounts with unlimited forms and more users begin at $9 per month, with payment integration-enabled accounts starting at $22 per month.

The Bottom Line

While FormMule provides businesses the ability to easily create professional-looking forms, maneuvering between the different sections of the setup area can be difficult at times. In order to continue editing a form, I had to go back to my list of forms several times and select the one I’d created. However, for a free form-creation service, businesses can’t do better than FormMule for creating and managing forms, as well as tracking results.
