Zynga, the Grandaddy of internet gaming, has presented the world with a handful of games targeted at seniors with familiar and simple user-friendly games. In only 4 years, Zynga reached $1 billion with 54 million daily average users. Keep in mind most of these users are senior citizens and over a quarter of gamers are over 50 years of age.

So why exactly are seniors drawn more to these internet and computer games? It helps keep their mind sharp while they have the extra time, they get to interact and make new friends, and with a percentage of senior citizens being disabled, they can play at home and don’t have to worry about going out. Percentages of seniors online keep leveling up every year and currently 53% of the senior citizen community are internet capable.

With 1 in 5 of women leaving their husband or boyfriend over neglect linked to internet gaming, it is in your best interest to not become addicted to such games. How do you tell if your Granny is becoming an online game addict? Signs to look for include bags under her eyes, sore hands, migraine headaches, backaches and a lack in personal hygiene. So, if your Granny is speaking in mumbo-jumbo with a sense of depression when she’s away from the keyboard, it’s time to help your sweet Grandmother slow down on the gaming. Have fun and play responsibly!
