Where Will the Olympic Games Be Held in 2024?

The next Olympics event will take place in Paris, France. Despite the official Olympics start date 2024 being July 26, some competitions start on July 24. Football and rugby sevens kick off on that date, with handball and archery starting on July 25.

Paris is the main host city, with some events occurring at 16 other cities across France (and a single subsite in Tahiti).

Paris has previously hosted the Summer Olympic Games in 1900 and 1924. Thus, hosting the Games in 2024 makes the city the second to ever host the Olympics three times, with London being the first. It does, of course, mark the centenary since Paris last hosted the competition.

The entire event will last for 16 days from the Opening Ceremony. It will feature 32 sports and include the introduction of breakdancing. With so many sports involved, it is one of the best competitions to learn how to bet on sports.

The Stade de France will host the Closing Ceremony for the Olympics on August 11. In a unique twist, the Opening Ceremony will take place on the River Seine – marking the first time the ceremony occurs outside a stadium.

Where is the 2028 Summer Olympics?

Several of the next Olympics locations are already known, with the 2028 Summer Olympics scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, California, USA. The event is scheduled to take place from July 14 to 30. The city had originally put in a bid to host the Olympics 2024 event, yet following multiple withdrawals, only Paris and Los Angeles remained in contention.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) opted to concurrently award the two cities the 2024 and 2028 events as a result. Following Paris displaying its preference for the first of the two, Los Angeles agreed to host the second.

As with Paris, when Los Angeles hosts in 2028, it becomes another city to have hosted three times. It previously did so in 1932 and 1984. The 2028 Olympics will feature the debut of flag football and squash as optional sports. Baseball and cricket will make their returns for the first time since 1900, with lacrosse appearing again for the first time since 1908. Boxing has been provisionally removed due to governance issues.
