The National Basketball Association has announced a partnership with DraftKings that will see the launch of co-branded apparel for the 2023-2024 season.
The partnership is the first time an official sports betting partner of the NBA has launched co-branded merchandise. Each piece of apparel merges the DraftKings gold crown with the logos of NBA teams.
The merchandise range, dubbed “the NBA Collection presented by DraftKings” is set to retail between $30 and $75 depending on item. The items will predominantly be sold online in the DraftKings shop, and in-person at certain pop-up events across various cities. The items will be available from 2 November, 2023.
Matt Kalish, Co-Founder and President of DraftKings North America commented: “Through our longstanding relationship with the NBA, we were able to tap into the passion that millions of DraftKings customers have for the NBA by creating a custom, co-branded clothing collection that fans everywhere can enjoy.”
He added: “There is a strong affinity toward DraftKings’ signature crown logo and combining that with one-of-a-kind designs that feature NBA teams, allows us to further connect with the lifestyle of our customers in a whole new way.”
A sports betting operator and merchandise is not new. Fanatics are known as a behemoth in the sporting apparel world, and recently acquired PointsBet to expand its sports betting arm further. The introductory offer from Fanatics for the start of the NFL season offered new registrants a voucher for a free NFL jersey.
