Jessie Graff, a stuntwoman for the CBS series Supergirl, made American Ninja Warrior history Monday night on the Las Vegas course. Graff, 32, has become the first woman ever to complete Stage 1 of the national finals on NBC’s popular show, which has contestants competing as they make their way through a parkour course full of obstacles.

USA Today reports that Graff credits her Ninja Warrior focus on a blown-out knee. After she tore her ACL, TCL, and meniscus, she knew she was going to have to change focus on her workouts. That’s when she decided to set American Ninja Warrior as her goal, working at it for months to build up her strength again.

Stage 1 will continue next week, but Jessie Graff will be back to take on Stage 2 on September 12.

In all the coverage Jessie Graff is getting, a lot of the focus has been on her outfits as she wore a Wonder Woman outfit in her qualifying run and a Green Lantern outfit for the Stage 1 Finals. People are understandably upset that her wardrobe may be getting more focus than her talent and athleticism.
