Tamadoge Rare Pet NFTs are heading into the final hours of their OpenSea auction.
The 1,000 Pets, the second collection released for the upcoming Tamadoge play-to-earn (P2E) game, will boast boosted states over the 20,000 Common Pets that are set to be released later this month.
The Pets had a starting price of 5ETH – 1ETH below the floor of the 100 Ultra-Rare Pet collection – but are on sale via Dutch auction which means the price is constantly falling.
With the auction ending at 3pm UTC there will be a flurry of late activity to buy the Pets as it draws to a close.
However, bidders may not be able to secure a Pet if they leave it to the last minute and some have decided that paying a higher price is worth the extra ETH to confirm their ownership.
What are Tamadoge Pets?
Tamadoge NFT Pets will be at the center of the Tamadoge ecosystem which includes play-to-earn gaming and the trending meme coin TAMA.
Owners of the pets will feed, care for, and grow their Pets in a game based on 90s craze Tamagotchi in what promises to be one of the best NFT games in the space.
When they are fully grown, players can battle their Pets against other players for a place on a global leaderboard and the chance to win prizes and rewards.
Rare Pets, the second of three tiers, will boast boosted speed, agility, and awareness stats over the Common Pets.
Ultra-Rare Pets, which have already attracted a strong secondary market, will have the best stats and the highest chance of finishing at the top of the leaderboard.
The Ultra-Rare Pets currently have a floor price of 6ETH with just five of the Pets available below 88ETH.
They became the top trending collection on leading NFT Marketplace OpenSea after selling out last week, raising more than 250ETH.
Later in the roadmap holders of the Pets will also be able to take part in other arcade-style games, while an augmented reality app is in development for Q4 2023.
The app will see holders able to take their pets out into the real world to explore and hunt.
Developers released screenshots of the first arcade game, Enter the Tamaverse, last week, generating a lot of excitement in the crypto community.
The P2E game drew fond memories of side-scrolling platform games such as Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog.
P2E Games Will Help TAMA Price
Furthermore, the NFT collection and P2E games will also positively impact the price of the native TAMA token – which was released to huge hype and excitement at the end of September.
Owners of pets will spend TAMA to buy toys, treats and food to grow their pets in the Pet Store. 5% of those transactions are then burned, making TAMA deflationary.
The meme coin already had a low supply of 2 billion – tiny compared to DogeCoin (130 billion circulating supply_ and Shiba Inu (550 trillion supply) – and making it deflationary will increase scarcity and drive up the value.
