As for his education, he studied at Westlake High School, where he played on the football team. He was so good, they named him The Plain Delaer’s All-Star football linebacker in 2012. He also qualified for the Ohio High School Athletic Association 2013 Division I Wrestling Individual Championships, competing on a state level.

In 2013, upon graduating from high school, Logan Alexander Paul enrolled at Ohio University to study industrial system engineering. However, he decided to drop out of university in 2014 to pursue a career in social media.

Personal Life

After he dropped out of school, Logan Paul relocated to Hollywood, California. In October 2015, he lived in the same apartment complex as other digital creators such as Amanda Cerny, Andrew Bachelor, and Juanpa Zurita, all following the same goal. His roommates in the Hollywood and Vine complex were Mark Dohner and Evan Eckenrode, also in social media.

The proximity with fellow creators allowed Paul to find many connections, so many of his early videos came in the form of collaborations with others.

As for his romantic life, Paul started dating Danish model Nina Agdal in 2022. In July 2023, he proposed to her at Lake Como in Italy, announcing his engagement on social media.

Logan Paul Net Worth: The College Dropout Turned YouTube Star and Professional Wrestler

Back when Logan Paul enrolled at Ohio University, his content had a modest following via Vine. This fanbase started growing at a whirlwind pace when he dropped out and moved to Los Angeles to live with other Vine stars. Let’s see how he became famous on social media and how he expanded his career to include various business ventures and income sources.

Logan Paul on YouTube

In February 2014, Logan Paul had over 3.1 million followers across his social media channels. By April of the same year, he had around 150,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel, 105,000 Twitter followers, and 361,000 Instagram followers.

At around this time, he posted a YouTube compilation video of his work from Vine, which garnered over four million views in a single week after it was posted.

Moving away from home and pursuing a social media career turned out to be the best decision in Paul’s career. In 2015, he was ranked as the tenth most influential person on Vine. His comedic, six-second videos added hundreds of thousands to his net worth in advertising revenue. On Facebook, his videos had over 300 million views, so his reach expanded way beyond Vine and YouTube.

In only a year, Logan Paul has become a mainstream superstar.

  • 23.6 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel
  • 27 million subscribers on Instagram
  • 16 million followers on Facebook
  • 4,274 followers on Twitter

In 2017, 2018, and 2021, Forbes ranked Logan Paul on their list of the highest-paid YouTube creators. Logan refers to his followers as the “Logang”.

Logan Paul’s Japanese Suicide Forest Controversy

Logan Paul has had a very successful YouTube career, but it hasn’t been one without challenges and controversies. On December 31, 2017, he uploaded a vlog to his YouTube channel where he depicted the deceased corpse of a suicide victim.

The man died by hanging himself in Aokigahara, located at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. Japan’s Aokigahara Forest is known as a “suicide forest”.

At the time, Paul and his group went camping in the woods but came across the corpse and canceled their plans. They videoed the body and their reactions, not knowing how insensitive they were behaving. Even though they called the police, their video depicting the deceased person went viral within 24 hours, gaining a record 6.3 million views. This action, as well as the group’s reactions to the video, led to serious backlash.

Logan Paul faced challenges due to this single video. Celebrities and politicians criticized him for his actions, and other members of the YouTube community judged him for being insensitive and trying to make money off of the poor victim.

On top of this, the public criticized him for other misbehaviors during the trip. For instance, he climbed onto a moving forklift at the Tsukiji fish market and removed his clothes on a crowded street.

As a result of the video, people started signing petitions on Change.org, urging YouTube to delete Paul’s channel. The largest of these petitions had over 720,000 signatures in February 2018.

The backlash caused Paul himself to remove the video from the YouTube channel. He followed up with a written apology on his Twitter account in January 2018. He also released a video apology to YouTube, admitting to making “a severe and continuous lapse in judgment”.

This didn’t stop his problems, though. On January 9, a few days after his apology, YouTube issued a statement via Twitter condemning his video. It wrote:

It’s taken us a long time to respond, but we’ve been listening to everything you’ve been saying. We know that the actions of one creator can affect the entire community, so we’ll have more to share soon on steps we’re taking to ensure a video like this is never circulated again.

A day later, YouTube announced it was removing Paul’s channels from its preferred ad program Google Preferred. Other projects, such as the airing of Logan Paul VS. and the sequel to The Thinning were also halted at the time, and Paul was cut from season 4 of the YouTube Red series Foursome.

In response to the Suicide Forest controversy, Logan Paul apologized many times and made a $1 million donation to suicide prevention agencies, a quarter of which went to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. He also hired a marketing manager to “make sure that no bad things happen”.

This single video put a dark mark on Paul’s reputation and nearly destroyed his YouTube career. However, the internet personality managed to get back on his feet. On February 4, he officially returned to his Logan Paul Vlogs on YouTube after a 3-week hiatus.

The controversy resulted in legal trouble, as well. Logan Paul was sued by Planeless Pictures in December 2020 for the incident. The company accused him of posting the video in an attempt to escape a movie deal he had signed with them.

The deal was to write and produce, as well as star in the film Airplane Mode. Planeless Pictures also claimed that Google suspended their contract with them as a result of the video, which left them $3 million in debt.

The specific outcome of the lawsuit remains private, but it reportedly led to a settlement.

Other Controversies

Despite his success, Logan Paul’s career has been plagued with controversies. On February 9, 2018, YouTube suspended all advertising on his channel because of a joke he tweeted about the Tide Pod challenge. He removed a fish from his pond to give it CPR and tasered two dead rats.

YouTube restored ads on Paul’s channels only two weeks later, but he was put on a 90-day probation period. During this period, his content was not eligible to be on the platform’s trending tab.

The controversies didn’t even end with Logan Paul’s YouTube channel. In January 2023, Paul was criticized when his former pet pig Pearl was found abandoned by The Gentle Barn Sanctuary in California. He denied any wrongdoing, stating that the pig was rehomed after he had it in 2021. Like many first-time pig owners, Paul likely didn’t realize how big the pig would get and gave it up once she became difficult to care for.

Logan Paul’s Net Worth: Earnings from Social Media Content

Logan Paul has made the bulk of his net worth from social media, particularly from endorsement deals and YouTube ad revenue, among other sources. He has reportedly made around $120 million from ads and sponsorships on YouTube alone.

In addition to social media, he earns a fortune from endorsements and merchandise sales. In 2023, Logan Paul earned $21 million from content creation alone.

Logan Paul’s Boxing Career

Logan Paul’s first foray into boxing was in 2018. On February 3, 2018, British YouTuber KSI challenged Paul to a boxing match. A few weeks later, it was announced that both Logan and his younger brother Jake Paul would fight KSI and his younger brother Deji, in two boxing matches.

The two judges scored the fight even at 57-57 and the fight ended as a majority draw.

On November 9, 2019, Paul made his professional boxing debut in a rematch against KSI at the Staples Center, in a match that was broadcast exclusively on DAZN. At the UK press conference, Paul stirred controversy once again by accusing KSI of having five abortions. In return, he received criticism from abortion rights activists and praise from anti-abortion activists.

The rematch resulted in a win for KSI via a split decision.

On December 6, 2020, it was announced that Logan Paul would fight former five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. in February 2021. The fight was postponed and eventually took place in June at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The match ended with no winner being announced since it consisted of constant clinching, initiated by Logan Paul himself. When the match ended, Mayweather said:

He’s better than I thought he was … he’s a tough, rough competitor.

Most recently, in October 2023, Paul and KSI headlined MF & DAZN: X Series 10 – The Prime Card at Manchester Arena. Logan Paul faced American mixed martial artist Dillon Danis in a highly controversial match. Danis shared pictures of Paul’s wife Adgal (his fiance back then) with other men and was served with a lawsuit.

The bout ended in the sixth round when Danis attempted an illegal choke. He was subsequently disqualified with Logan Paul declared the winner.

Logan Paul’s WWE Career

Logan Paul has been a professional wrestler since 2021. He made his WWE debut on an episode of SmackDown as a guest of Sami Zayn. Zayn later invited Paul to be at ringside for his match against Kevin Owens. Owens defeated Zayn at the event.

Paul once again returned to WWE on the September 3 episode of SmackDown, this time as Happy Corbin’s special guest on The KO Show, where he helped Corbin attack Owens.

His next WWE event was in 2022, where he and The Miz took on Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio at Wrestle Mania 38. He defeated the Mysterios at the event.

After these successes, Logan Paul signed a multi-year deal with WWE on June 30, 2022. Since Miz attacked him after the defeat at WrestleMania, he wanted to avenge himself. He subsequently defeated Miz at SummerSlam.

Afterward, Paul challenged Roman Reigns on an episode of SmackDown, followed by their match at Crown Jewel on November 5 for Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. He didn’t manage to defeat Reigns, which marked his first loss in the WWE.

On January 28, 2023, after recovering from injuries he suffered in the match against Reigns, Paul returned as a heel in the Royal Rumble match at #29. During the match, he and Ricochet leaped off the top rope and collided with each other in mid-air, creating one of the best moments of the match. He also eliminated Seth Rollins but was eventually eliminated by Cody Rhodes, the winner of the event.

At Elimination Chamber in February, Paul cost Rollins the US Championship and turning heel. On the March 6 episode of Raw, a WrestleMania 39 match between Paul and Rollins was set. Paul lost to Rollins in a highly praised match.

This was the last match of Paul’s initial contract with the WWE. Soon after, Logan signed a new multi-deal contract shortly after, stating that he aims to win a WWE United States championship.

In the 2023 WWE draft, Paul became a free agent, which allowed him to appear on both Raw and SmackDown. He returned on the June 19 episode of Raw and announced his entry into the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. He did lose, but he and Ricochet botched a Spanish fly from the top rope, which led them to a match at SummerSlam. At SummerSlam, Paul won by defeating Ricochet using brass knuckles.

Logan Paul Becomes a United States Champion

After defeating Dillon Danis in a boxing match on October 14, 2023, Paul challenged and beat Rey Mysterio for the US Championship at Crown Jewel in November.

He retained his title against Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble and later defended it in a triple threat against Owens and Randy Orton at WrestleMania XL.

In May, Logan Paul faced Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes in the WWE ring but lost after interference. His title reign ended at SummerSlam on August 3, 2024, when he lost to LA Knight. This marked 273 days as a champion for Paul.

Earnings from Professional Fighting

For his match against KSI in August 2018, Logan reportedly pocketed around $2 million pre-taxation, the same as his competitor. For the rematch, they were both guaranteed a minimum of $900,000, but their total earnings eventually topped $3 million each.

When Logan faced off against Mayweather in 2021, he reportedly negotiated a deal for a base salary of $250,000 plus 10% of the pay per view profits. In comparison, Mayweather was guaranteed $10 million just to show up, as well as 50% of the PPV profits.

Floyd Mayweather reportedly earned around $35 million from the fight, while Logan earned $5.25 million.

Logan Paul’s 2023 three-year deal with WWE adds a total of $15 million to his net worth. As for his first deal, the details are undisclosed, but we did find a source mentioning that Paul’s boxing career has brought in over $50 million in total.

Logan Paul’s Diverse Investments, Income Sources, and Assets

Besides success on YouTube and wrestling, Logan Paul earns a fortune from sponsorships and endorsement deals. He’s also a successful businessman, has dabbled in music and films, and has a popular podcast.

Endorsements

Logan Paul’s huge follower base on social media means a lot of endorsements. He makes around $150,000 per sponsored Facebook post and $80,000 from sponsored Instagram posts.

Some of Logan Paul’s endorsements over the years include HBO, Bic, Nike, PepsiCo, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Verizon. Paul and KSI are faces of Prime and feature on Lunchly campaigns as well.

Logan Paul’s NFT Game

Perhaps one of the biggest controversies of Logan Paul’s to date (besides the suicide forest video) involves his NFT-based game CryptoZoo. In September 2021, Logan Paul released the game, which was mocked being extremely lazy and using stock images.

In December of the following year, YouTuber Coffeezilla released a docuseries exposing the game’s poor functionality. His criticism included pre-launch crypto purchases by the team and marketing toward children.

In response, Paul disputed the allegations and threatened legal action against Coffeezilla. In January 2023, he apologized and promised a $1.3 million refund for the game’s NFT holders. However, this didn’t fix the problem.

In February 2023, investors filed a class-action lawsuit against Logan Paul. This led to a refund program in January 2024, with Logan offering refunds to people who agreed not to sue.

Despite his earlier apologies and some actions such as buying back Base Egg and Base Animal NFTs, in June 2024, Paul decided to sue Coffeezilla for defamation. According to Coffeezilla, Logan Paul filed this lawsuit in response to his request for a new investigation into Liquid Marketplace (a company in which Paul has a stake).

We are yet to see how the legal battle will conclude and how much this will affect Logan Paul’s net worth.

Business Ventures

Logan also makes a fortune from selling his own merchandise and other business ventures. In 2020, Paul launched his Maverick Apparel brand, which made over $40 million in the first nine months.

In 2022, Logan Paul partnered with KSI, his former boxing rival, to co-found a hydration drink brand called Prime. The Prime energy drink soon became a hit, and is the favorite of Saint West, Kim Kardashian‘s son. Kardashian requested a customized blue-and-pink bottle from Paul’s company.

The company’s first beverage was Prime Hydration, introduced in 2022. It was followed by Prime Energy and Prime UFC 300.

Within a year, Prime had raked in $1 billion in sales. Reportedly, KSI and Logan Paul own a combined 20% stake in Prime (though some sources mention they hold 20% each).

In 2023, the business was valued at $3.2 billion. If Logan Paul holds a 10% stake in the business, this asset is worth $320 million alone. The company works with celebrity endorses like Patrick Mahomes, Israel Adesanya, Auston Matthews, and more.

Most recently, Logan Paul and KSI teamed up with MrBeast to launch a pre-packed lunch meal box called Lunchly. The boxes all contain a Prime hydration drink, a Feastable chocolate bar, and other snacks. The three have gone above and beyond to promote this brand on social media, but the details of its earnings are still undisclosed.

Despite a lot of criticism following claims of product recalls and reports, Lunchly is a hit on the market. According to Logan, the company outsold its main competitor Lunchables within its first few weeks.

Music

In November 2017, Paul posted his new single No Handlebars. This track draws on an interpolated sample of Handlebars by Flobots.

His song was heavily criticized since Paul had a scene in the video where he rides several women like a bicycle. This has led to a backlash for its perceived sexual objectification of women.

Flobots eventually sued Logan Paul for copyright infringement in 2019, after which Paul deleted the YouTube video.

Impaulsive Podcast

Logan Paul has his own podcast. The first episode of his Impaulsive podcast aired on November 20, 2018. Leading up to the presidential election in 2024, former President Donald Trump appeared on the podcast for an interview.

The podcast now has over 5 million subscribers, which means that it also contributes significantly to Logan Paul’s net worth.

In addition to Trump, Paul has interviewed a range of high-profile celebrities, including Mike Tyson, Snoop Dogg, Ben Shapiro, Kevin Hart, Post Malone, Shaquille O’Neal, and Bella Thorne.

NFTs and Pokemon Cards

Logan Paul owns a 1998 Pokemon Japanese promo illustrator Pikachu card, one of the most expensive Pokemon cards today. He spent $5.2 million on this card and listed it on his own non-fungible token platform Liquid Marketplace. On his platform, he said that this would essentially break out into NFTs, so others would be able to co-own the card alongside him. In this plan, Paul would retain a 49% minority stake, while he would distribute the remaining 51%.

When he bought the card, he broke the record for the most expensive card purchase and received a Guinness World Records title.
Logan Paul has been linked to NFTs for a while. He promoted Dink Doink, a cryptocurrency inspired by South Park humor, featuring a cartoon mascot with stick arms and legs. He and his friend Mike Majlak promoted it as a meme coin with potential for future value, but the project quickly came under fire for its questionable promotional tactics.

Critics claimed Dink Doink was misleadingly hyped to Paul’s fans, many of who thought this was a good long-term investment. Despite Paul’s endorsement, the token’s value plummeted and became recognized as a “pump and dump” scheme – artificially inflating an asset’s price before dumping it for profit.

In the aftermath, Paul faced a lot of scrutiny over the ethical implications of promoting such a high-risk crypto asset to his audience.

Filmography

Logan Paul has had numerous appearances in TV shows, series, and films over the years, including:

  • Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2015)
  • Weird Loners (2015)
  • Stitchers (2015)
  • The Thinning (2016) – a YouTube Red movie

In 2016, Logan Paul wrote the screenplay for the adult comedy Airplane Mode. The film was released in 2019 after several delays.

In 2021, he competed in the fifth season of The Masked Singer as Grandpa Monster.

In 2021, at a point when he was worth millions, Paul moved to Dorado, Puerto Rico where he lived in a $13 million mansion. He rents this home.

In 2019, Paul spent $1 million for an 80-acre property called Fobes Ranch in the San Jacinto Mountains. The property was previously owned by LSD producer Timothy Leary.

He owns five houses across the US. His New York and Ohio properties are worth $4 million and $25 million, respectively, and he also owns houses in Florida, Kansas City, and Miami.

Car Collection

Logan Paul often splurges on expensive things, which includes his car collection. He has an impressive garage with vehicles including:

  • Volvo XC60 worth $110,000
  • Jaguar F-Speed worth $140,000
  • Mercedes-Benz AMG GT worth $770,000

What Can We Learn from Logan Paul’s Story?

Logan Paul’s story offers numerous insights, particularly around leveraging personal branding and diversifying income sources. Even though he became famous as a social media personality, Paul didn’t solely rely on YouTube as a source of income. He’s expanded into boxing, merchandise, and WWE, and has managed various business ventures to date. Diversification mitigates risks and strengthens financial stability.

Logan started on Vine and turned into a social media star, but Vine shut down. He pivoted to creating YouTube videos, adapting his style and content to fit new audiences. He later adjusted once again, becoming a champion wrestler and expanding his appeal. This teaches us the importance of adaptability in life.

Paul has built a personal brand around a high-energy, adventurous persona. This has set him apart in a very saturated market, which is an example of how authenticity can resonate with the audience and build loyalty.

Following his suicide forest controversy, Logan publicly apologized and took steps to improve his image, like making content changes and donating to mental health causes. Transparency and accountability can help mitigate backlash from mistakes.

However, the many controversies in Paul’s career are also a cautionary lesson on ethical boundaries, trust with audiences and the long-term risks of prioritizing short-term gains. Trust is the foundation of any lasting brand and damaging that trust can have long-term consequences. Logan faced significant backlash over his involvement with CryptoZoo and DinkDoink, which has left a dark mark on his reputation as an influencer.
