SuperBook Sports has entered its ninth state in the US with Virginia market entry.
The Nevada sports betting brand launched in Las Vegas in 1986 and now, with expansion into Virginia mobile sports betting, operates across nine US states.
SuperBook’s first foray into mobile sports wagering came with Colorado in 2020. Since then, the company has added Arizona, Iowa, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio and Tennessee to its portfolio.
Virginia sports betting legislation permits a total of eighteen mobile sports wagering sites. SuperBook, after launching earlier in October, has become the 17th in the state.
Richmond casino vote edges ever closer
The capital of the state, Richmond, is just weeks away from a second referendum on a potential land based location in the state after sports betting was legalized. The casino is a $562 million project that promises 1,300 new jobs in the city and a $26.5 million upfront payment to the state.
Mark Lipparelli, CEO and Managing Partner of SuperBook Sports, said: “We are very pleased with our ongoing growth. We are excited to be live in Virginia and believe we have a solid product with a strong background that will quickly become a top choice for sports bettors in the area.”
He continued: “Sports fans in the region can find all their favorite teams and get in the action with some of the best sports traditions in the country.”
Kornegay, the Executive Vice President of Race & Sportsbook Operations at SuperBook Sports, said: “Launching in Virginia is a great addition to our rapidly expanding business in Maryland. With our background and the enthusiasm of fans in the region, it will be a perfect match. We take pride in our wide range of options and will provide excellent choices for everything from the Commanders to the Ravens and the Nationals to our valued partners, the Orioles.”
