The global crypto exchange OKX has announced the listing of $CITY, the official fan token of Manchester City Football Club, on its platform. Football and crypto enthusiasts can seamlessly trade $CITY tokens exclusively on the OKX crypto exchange with USDT.
In a September 28 press release, OKX confirmed listing $CITY on its exchange platform. The listing will allow crypto fans on social media to vote on which fan tokens should be listed on its exchange in preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
$CITY Fan Token Overview
Launched in 2021, $CITY are utility tokens on Chiliz-powered fan engagement and reward app Socios.com. These tokens allow Man City fans to access rewards and direct engagement with the sports community, such as players and other team officials.
Furthermore, $CITY tokens allow fans to vote in polls, play games, competitions, VIP tickets, unique experiences, merchandise, and enjoy digital rewards such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Recently, Manchester City FC tokens enabled sports fans to have a hand in critical decisions in the club, including its Wembley Stadium’s wall designs, photo opportunities, and their “Moment of the Season.”
Meanwhile, OKX anticipates allowing its fans on social media platforms to vote on which fan tokens should be listed on its exchange ahead of FIFA World Cup 2022. The highly anticipated sports event is set to start in November.
In the 2018 World Cup, three fan tokens, including POR, the Portugal National Team Fan Token, ARG, the Argentine Football Association Fan Token, and MENGO, the Flamengo Fan Token, qualified for OKX listing.
OKX Becomes The First CEX To List TAMA
In a related development, OKX announced the listing of Tamadoge’s native token, TAMA, on September 27, becoming the first crypto exchange platform to list TAMA. OKX listed TAMA on its spot trading platform and decentralized exchange (DEX) markets.
Tamadoge, a dog meme-themed crypto token, recently took the crypto world by storm after raising $19 million from its beta token presale. Tamadoge is set to launch its NFT and Metaverse-related play-to-earn (P2E) game next month.
