Savannah Marshall, one of Lucky Block’s brand ambassadors, is to be fighting Claressa Shields this Saturday in what is set to be one of the most significant bouts of women’s boxing ever to have taken place in the UK.
Savannah Marshall fights Claressa Shields
The two women have a long-standing rivalry that span over a decade. During the Olympic games in 2012, Savannah Marshall beat Clarissa Shields, who then went on to win the gold medal.
Since their last match, when Shields was 17 and Marshall was 20, both have made a name for themselves as professionals. They are no longer amateurs. In boxing, winning the Olympics isn’t the highest achievement; professional boxers focus on winning world titles instead of gold medals.
As well as this, the fighting styles of the two women have also changed significantly over the course of the past 10 years.
Savannah Marshall is confident about the fight, and has stated:
“I believe that I’m smarter than Claressa – I have a better boxing brain. That’s what will win me this fight, and make me the undisputed boxing champion … I have the best team in boxing, I have the best trainer in the world in Peter Fury.”
Boxing has grown enormously in popularity over the past few years, and women’s boxing has also grown to be something that people are taking a lot of notice of.
Exposure for Lucky Block
As one of Lucky Block’s main brand ambassadors, the fight will give phenomenal exposure to the project. Since this is to be one of the largest women’s boxing fights, and hotly anticipated, fans are expecting the arena.
When asked about why she believes in Lucky Block, Marshall said that it’s unbelievable what Lucky Block are achieving in the boxing world at the moment, and that it is clear that the company is “making big moves in the sport”.
The arena will be replete with Lucky Block branding thanks to the partnership, and the Lucky Block community will be cheering on Marshall as she goes to battle against her American counterpart.
