The Producers Guild Awards have announced their nominations. For The Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures, “Birdman”, “American Sniper”, “Boyhood”, “Gone Girl’ and “Foxcatcher” are among the nominees.

Notably missing are Martin Luther King Jr’s biopic “Selma”, Angelina Jolie’s “Unbroken” and Christopher Nolan’s “Intersteller.”

In the animated-feature category the PGA included “Big Hero 6”, “The Lego Movie”, “The Book of Life”, “The Boxtrolls” and “How to Train Your Dragon 2.”

The PGA 26th annual awards ceremony will take place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.

According to Variety the PGA, which has 6,000 members, has become a strong indicator of Oscar sentiment in recent years, matching the Oscar for best picture in 18 of its 25 years. Films such as “12 Years a Slave,” “Argo,” “The Artist,” “The King’s Speech,” “The Hurt Locker,” “Slumdog Millionaire” and “No Country for Old Men” are examples.

One exception of Producers Guild Awards nominations not winning an Oscar was with 2006’s “Little Miss Sunshine”. The Oscars chose “The Departed” for Best Picture instead.

In the long-term television category, two FX series got nods — “American Horror Story: Freak Show” and “Fargo.” PBS’s “The Roosevelts: An Intimate History and “Sherlock” and HBO’s “The Normal Heart” also scored nominations.
